Saying Goodbye To The East Coast

1930s Bathing Suit: Antique Mall

Here is one of my favorite vintage pieces that I've been meaning to show you forever! It's a 1930's suit that I found at an antique mall at the end of last summer. I couldn't believe it when I saw it and was even more surprise when it fit me perfectly! Sadly it's not in the best condition. It's made of wool and has some small holes here and there, so it's really not the bathing suit to wear swimming. I love it so much anyway! It reminds me of the suits in this picture.
Anyway, it was fun to take these pictures at the beach. Moving to Nashville we won't have the ocean anymore, so it was kind of a goodbye to the sea. Though I have family that live here so I can come visit the ocean anytime I want! Funny back story...while taking these pics there were three men fishing. They were making funny, but nice comments while I was frolicking in the sand, lol!

I'm off to do more packing. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

That suit is perfect on you! I can't imagine not living near the ocean, even if the Oregon coast is freezing cold!

I came across a few swimsuits at the Antique Expo today that reminded me so much of you!

Is that a little zipper in the front?! This is an awesome late 30s suit! I've got my 30s jantzen all ready to go for my trip to the cabin next week. I can only hope I look as stunning in it as you look in your lovely!

You remind me of a late 30s Catalina model like this:

aawww I wish I could have met you while you were up about 2-3 hours away from me. I think my hips might be either 34 or 36 but I haven't measured in a while so I guessed. I have very big hips like you though. . .which is how I was able to birth a 10 pounder! ahh! I like them though. they just bump into everything! you ever have that issue?

I think your goodbye beach shots are adorable! i hope you have a safe journey to TN and that You'll have a great time!!! I look forward to all your new posts once you move!!

very pretty suit: can't you fix some of the whole - I have 1 solution for all of my damaged clothes = my grandma, she can fix almost anything!

Wow, I didn't even know that wool bathing suits existed! That's awesome.

As a Bay Area resident, I know how hard it would be to part with the sea...I don't know if I could do it! Good luck with packing and the move!

wow! these photos are excellent! your bob really suits the suit, hehe. definitely a 30's cut. adorable. You'll have some good potential blogger meet-ups in Nashville ... Kristin from Leproust vintage is from there.

I couldn't help but notice you have chinese spam comments too. :( i was irritated by them, so I switched to comment moderation. quite the bummer!
